System Architect

Our client is a multimillion dollar Global Software vendor, with a strong product set, which 70% of the Fortune 100 organisations globally utilise.

They specialise in providing enterprise wide application infrastructure software and their products have a great ROI and help organisations become more effective. They sell cross vertical including the financial services market, manufacturing, Telco and public sector.

Via numerous acquisitions over the years, they now have cutting-edge best-in-class technology. Their products sit within the BMP and SOA space and are therefore in demand by many of the world's top organisations. Their products sit in the top quadrant within both Gartner and Forrester.

They seek additional System Architects with a broad background in Integration products. Ideally you will have experience gained with products from vendors such as BEA, Tibco, Oracle, IBM, Progress Software, Web Methods, Pegasystems or Cordis.

They seek ambitious System Architects who have a broad skill-set and able to be hands on and possess strong business skills and analysis.

Key Requirements:

Extensive knowledge of Java, J2EE, JMS, App Servers, .Net, and/or Web Services.

At least 5 years experience with XML,UML, Web Services, and Application Servers. Specifically, experience with WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat, and Jboss is a plus.

• Knowledge of governance, business process design, as well as the concepts of policies and SLA. • Working knowledge ofaspect-oriented programming. • Building on experience, can analyze and understand customer architectures and systems and can give valuable input and expert advice on every part of a complex multi-tier, peer-to-peer or enterprise level system. • Has excellent problem solving ability; can mentor and advise more junior members. • Demonstrable experience working within and defining the framework of a proven implementation methodology. • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering; MSin Computer Science highly desirable. • Ability to write and converse clearly, concisely and confidently on technical problems, solutions and workarounds. A MUST requirement is excellent communication skills- both verbal and written. • An abilityto influence people internally and build strong relationships. • An enthusiastic “can do” attitude and proven strength in delighting customers. • Ability to present on technical subjects to using a standardized modelling notation such as UML; confident use of electronic media (for example PowerPoint) and ad hoc white-boarding techniques to communicate sophisticated information; • Ability to present and debate technical subjects on customer sites; can communicate effectively with non-technical members of the organization on hard technical issues. • Is comfortable to instigate and influence management on potential process improvements. • As the majority of our work is performed at client sites, 50%-65% travel will be required.
